- I am an Anthropology/Sociology instructor at North Central Michigan College. Currently, I am on sabbatical researching group dynamics so I can study a group of bike riders, of which I will be one, that will be from Cairo to Cape Town starting in Jan. 2008. Who knows why I am drawn to these endurance events but this one will be the longest one I have ever done!

less than a week before we take off for Cairo. The big adventure is waiting for us. The bike is ready, gear is packed, cameras are loaded, what about body and mind?
